What we do
Through a wide range of non-formal and peer-led activities, the European Youth Parliament Belgium provides young people with spaces to develop opinions on current topics, build intercultural understanding and friendships across borders, as well as learn skills to positively shape the world around them. All our activities are contributing to a vibrant network of young change-makers.
Sessions & Conferences
Our main activity to address contemporary challenges is the organisation of our sessions or conferences. Here, young people develop interpersonal and soft skills, while finding solutions for these pressing issues. Participants will brainstorm on key priorities and formulate policy recommendations for interested policymakers, institutions and organisations. These sessions or conferences differ in size, location and structure, but have always the following three programme elements: team building, committee work, and general assembly.
Understanding Europe has been active in Belgium for about 10 years and since then the project is growing steadily. We cooperate with many different schools in all regions of the country and deliver high quality civic European education to hundreds of pupils every year. We offer to conduct the EU-Crash-Course in English, Dutch or French and in an analogue or digital format. Understanding Europe Belgium operates as a project of the European Youth Parliament Belgium.
